Grundik Kasyansky

will be playing his last concert in the US this night before he and his
family move to London. He works in collaboration (improvisation, live
installation, happening) and solo (composition, improvisation, installation, audio
collage). He also designs sound for dance, theatre and film. For the last couple
of years he concentrates in live performance on "feedback synthesizer" - sort
of analog synthesizer oscillated by means of controlled feedback instead of
VCO. This set up provides him with challenge, insecurity, ugliness and all
other necessary tools in his search for the peace of mind and beauty.

Jack Wright

is either a very serious musician or else, tired of living up to that image,
he is not serious at all. At any rate, he has been a full-time saxophonist
of strange music since the late 70's, and even began playing saxophone as a
ten-year-old in 1952, and a boy soprano before that. He is known by a few
people but would prefer to keep a low profile, which is why those few people tend
to be other musicians of his ilk. He used to rage when he played, now as an
old man he makes soft cuddly sounds and occasional lion roars that scare
people even more. His appearance is non-descript--no big beard, no tattoos, always
a hat, not for fashion but to protect his almost-bald head from cold and
mosquitoes. He is known to play with everyone, but that is only partly true--he
only plays with people who interest him musically. And since he plays a lot
of different ways, from free jazz to no-recognizable-sax-sound, that's a lot
of people. Here (state-side) and abroad.

There is much more information available than you would want to know at:
_www.springgardenmusic.com_ (http://www.springgardenmusic.com/) and even a stack
of mp3's if you think that will be a substitute for coming to the show. But
I warn you, this improvisation is really only a live experience, played once
for you and then gone for good. Thank Whoever.

Andrew Lafkas

is the most important player of the group so we don't need to say anything
about him. He tells us what to do (you will see him whispering to us) and
sometimes we do it.

This music is improvised believe it or not. An mp3 of Grundik and Jack is
available at _
